Kristen Thomas, DVM
Dr. Kristen Thomas is a rotating intern at Pieper Veterinary, with special clinical interests in neuroscience and general practice. She graduated from the College of Wooster with a degree in behavioral neuroscience, and later obtained her doctorate from Purdue University. Although she originally planned to become a human medical doctor, her love of animals and passion for helping them encouraged her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine instead. Her favorite aspect of her job is being able to witness the human-animal bond and helping take care of both her animal patients and the people who love them.
Dr. Thomas began her career as a veterinary assistant and she credits her mentors there as inspiring her to become the doctor she is today. In her free time she is an avid rock climber and loves to run, hike, and spend time outdoors. She minored in studio art and enjoys drawing, painting, and ceramics, as well as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and is an alumni of Turpentine Creek Wildlife Rescue. She lives with her three cats - an 18-year old torbie named Akia and two 2-year old Siamese siblings named Reece and Meeka.
