Associate Veterinarian - ER
Jennifer Guerrero, DVM
Dr. Jennifer Guerrero is an associate veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary and part of our rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship program. Originally from New York City, she graduated from Cornell University in 2018 and from Ross University in 2024, where she received the Excellence in Large Animal Medicine Award. She completed a clinical year at the University of Florida where she achieved a Graduate Certificate in the Care and Conservation of Aquatic Animals. She is a member of the AVMA and has a special interest in anesthesiology and exotic animal medicine.
Dr. Guerrero lives with a variety of pets including cats "Cherry" and "Aloe," and dog "Captain," all three of whom were rescue pets from St. Kitts island where Dr. Guerrero spent time completing veterinary training. She also has "Peanut" the Hognose snake, acquired during her time at Cornell as the Vice President of the herpetological society there. Dr. Guerrero has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a young child, and credits this to her family's deep love of animals and the summers she spent working as a veterinary assistant in Ecuador. She deeply values the opportunities to connect with her clients during difficult or stressful moments, and being able to provide kindness and comfort to both humans and animals.
Dr. Guerrero is SCUBA-certified and when not at work she enjoys hiking, swimming, arcades, amusement parks, and napping with her pets.
