Associate Veterinarian - Internal Medicine
Richard Brown, DVM
Dr. Richard Brown is an associate veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary and is undergoing a year-long internship with our Internal Medicine specialty department. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Brown attended the College of William and Mary in Virginia where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology, and later graduated from St. George's University in Grenada with his degree in veterinary medicine. After a clinical year spent working in Virginia and Maryland he is pursuing a specialty internship at Pieper. He has a clinical interest in internal medicine, cardiology, and pharmacology.
Dr. Brown grew up with family involved in the dog show world, which gave him an interest in animals and veterinary medicine from a young age. His favorite aspect of the job is being able to educate pet owners about how the body ad its systems work, and helping them make informed decisions for their pet's care. He lives with his two Scottish terriers, Melody and Freya, and his cat Atticus, and is excited to be in New England for the first time and experience what it has to offer.
