Urgent Care vs Emergency Vet: How to Know Where to Go?

Understand when your pet needs urgent veterinary care and when a 24-hour emergency animal hospital is the right choice.

Care When It’s Urgent, Not an Emergency

Pieper Veterinary in Madison, Connecticut provides urgent veterinary care for pets with sudden illnesses, minor injuries, and time-sensitive medical concerns. Open five days a week, our Madison urgent care clinic serves pets from Madison, Guilford, Branford, Clinton, and surrounding shoreline communities with same-day veterinary evaluation and treatment.

As an Urgent Vet Care hospital, we are able to see patients with non-routine, non-critical illnesses and injuries including limps, GI upset, small wounds, urinary infections, torn nails, and more, and can perform diagnostic testing such as bloodwork and x-rays. In the event that a patient requires advanced diagnostics or intensive treatment, we can transfer your case to our Pieper Memorial Middletown 24hr hospital for continued care.

Walk-ins are welcome. You can notify our urgent care team that you and your pet are on your way before you arrive so that we can prepare for your arrival and help keep wait times to a minimum.
