Lara Gardner, DVM
Dr. Lara Gardner is an Emergency Medicine Intern at Pieper Veterinary with special interests in emergency medicine, alternative medicine, and animal welfare and protection. She graduated from Saint Joseph College with her bachelor's in Biology and Chemistry, and obtained her doctorate from the University of Illinois along with a master's in Animal Science. In addition, she also studied western herbalism. She is a member of the AVMA, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association.
Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Gardner lives with her husband, their two sons, and their two horses, three dogs, and cat. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping, pilates, and is interested in plant-based diets and animal rescue. Dr. Gardner credits her parents, who are activate animal advocates, for motivating her to want to practice veterinary medicine.
