Associate Veterinarian - Internal Medicine
Emma LaVigne, DVM
Dr. Emma LaVigne is an associate veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary who is completing a 2022-2023 internship in our internal medicine specialty department. A native to Connecticut, she was born in Simsbury and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2015. She earned her degree in veterinary medicine from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated with distinction in 2019. Dr. LaVigne completed a small animal rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Afterwards she returned to Connecticut where she worked as a general practitioner at Suffield Veterinary Hospital for two years, before deciding she wanted to pursue the specialty field of internal medicine at Pieper. She is a member of the AVMA and CVMA.
Dr. LaVigne's passion for internal medicine comes from her love of problem-solving and being able to work through challenging cases. Her favorite part of her job is being able to reunite her patients with their loving families, and knowing that she was able to make a difference for them. She lives with 2 tuxedo cats named Ziggy and Marley, 2 Ragdolls named Pia and Bella, a dog named Bandit, and a horse named Sunny, and when not working she enjoys horseback riding, skiing, snowboarding, sailing, and crocheting.
