Veterinarian
Daniel Shaiken, DVM
Dr. Daniel Shaiken is a veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary who joined our primary care team in 2020. Originally from Storrs, CT, he graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors' in Animal Science, and achieved his veterinary doctorate from Tufts University in 2017. He is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, and Tufts Veterinary Alumni Association, and has special clinical interests in preventative care, dentistry, and internal medicine.
A life-long resident of Connecticut, Dr. Shaiken has always been fascinated by animals and had several extended family members who were veterinarians. Being able to help families through their pet's journey from beginning to end and being a part of the human-animal bond is his favorite aspect of his job. Dr. Shaiken lives with his wife, their two dogs Patty and Murphy, and their two cats Ollie and Shea. When not working he enjoys hiking, biking, soccer, and cheering on the UConn basketball teams and Liverpool soccer team.
